Yang Ming Responds to Earth Day
Rallying Global Partners to Protect the Environment Together
Yang Ming actively supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and remains committed to marine sustainability and conservation. In celebration of Earth Day 2025, a total of 108 volunteers—including Yang Ming employees from domestic and global offices, along with supplier partners—joined forces to remove 262 kilograms of marine debris. Their collective effort in protecting the coastal environment exemplified Yang Ming’s proactive commitment to corporate sustainability and environmental stewardship.
On April 18, a beach cleanup event was held at Longdong Bay Ocean Park on Taiwan’s northern coast organized by Yang Ming’s headquarters. Employees participated enthusiastically, joined by supply chain partners including Jerami International Co., Ltd., He Fong Co., Ltd., Liandar Security Co., Ltd., Grand Ark International Co., Ltd., CPC Corporation Taiwan, Castrol Marine, Ernst & Young Global Limited, and Kuang Ming Shipping Corp. Their dedication created a positive impact, helping to restore the natural beauty of Longdong Bay—a coastline where marine debris tends to accumulate due to prevailing ocean currents. Meanwhile, on Earth Day itself, Yang Ming’s Kaohsiung Branch and YES Logistics took part in a beach cleanup at Sizihwan, organized by Taiwan International Ports Corporation, to protect Taiwan’s beautiful shoreline together. Yang Ming’s Mediterranean Regional Center and Melbourne Office have also initiated local beach or urban cleanups. Through these sustained efforts, Yang Ming not only raises awareness among its global workforce about the issue of marine debris and reinforces its corporate sustainability values, but also strives to make a sustained and cumulative impact on environmental restoration—one step at a time.

“YM Willpower” Completes First LNG Bunkering in Singapore Advancing Energy Transition and Customer Decarbonization Services
Yang Ming continues to proactively advance its energy transition strategy in response to evolving international environmental regulations. In 2026, Yang Ming will progressively introduce newly built 15,500 TEU class container vessels primarily fueled by liquefied natural gas (LNG) into its operating fleet. The lead vessel, YM Willpower, completed partial LNG bunkering at the shipyard prior to delivery and was officially deployed on February 8 into Yang Ming’s Far East–Mediterranean MD2 service. On February 26, through close collaboration with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and energy supplier Shell Eastern Trading (Pte) Ltd. (Shell), YM Willpower successfully bunkered around 3,500 metric tons of LNG in Singapore. The LNG supplied will serve as the vessel’s primary fuel for the entire voyage. This milestone signifies Yang Ming’s concrete progress in low-carbon transformation and the provision of emission-reduction solutions to customers, further demonstrating the Company’s firm commitment toward the gradual realization of net-zero emissions.
