Quality, Environmental Protection, Safety and Security Policies 

  To upgrade our service quality, improve our work efficiency, reduce our operational costs, strengthen our environmental protection measures, and lay a firm foundation for our long-lasting business activities, YM has introduced ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001,TOHSMS, ISO27001, ISO14064, and ISM CODE to improve service quality, increase operation efficiency, lower operation cost, promote safe and environmentally-friendly operation. They serve as the foundation for sustainable operation. Chairman, the Company's highest management, is responsible for the approval of a variety of management system policies and the appointment of representatives that oversee the promotion and improvement of the system and the implementation of action plans. The management review meeting is convened annually and chaired by the Chairman or his appointed agent who is to examine the performance of promoting the management system. The system’s efficacy is maintained through the yearly third-party verification.

• Finding out the cause and effects to effectively solve problems ：Examining any problems efficiently, finding out the basic causes and effects thereof, exploring the possible counter measures, and carrying out these measures realistically to effectively solve the relevant problems.
• Participating by all ：For a shipping company, services offered include soliciting cargo transportation contracts, loading cargo on ships, ship navigation, transportation and delivery of cargo consignments; these are closely related operations. All members of the company, whether working aboard the ships or ashore, must strive for excellence, by coordinating and accomplishing their duties.

Environmental Protection Policy -“Care for the environment, cherish our Earth”

Protecting the environment is a corporation's social responsibility. Since we only have one Earth, we must do our utmost to prevent environmental degradation and squandering of natural resources. We must do our very best to leave behind an environment that is clean and healthy for future generations. 

As a corporation that specializes in international maritime transport services, we place our primary responsibility in safeguarding marine ecology, carefully using resources, preventing pollutions, and giving back to the community. In order to create a sustainable future through collective effort, we have been proactive in forming good relations with government agencies, investors, customers, suppliers, local and foreign associations and initiative groups, as well as stakeholders like our employees and members of the community.

Our implementation guidelines

• Abide by environmental laws, international conventions, as well as other regulations and standards governing energy efficiency and consumption. 
• Stay updated on the status of global climate change, assess the risks and opportunities thereof, and invest resources in implementing energy saving and water conservation measures. 
• Take environmentally-friendly actions, continue improving on energy consumption efficiency, waste management, push for circular economy and recycling, support green and local procurement, strengthen and improve the performance on controlling over sources of pollution and preserving biodiversity, as well as actively work with value chain partners to establish a green supply chain for products and services.

• Abiding by or going further on occupational safety and health regulations and standards.

• The Company’s top-level management should provide sufficient and necessary resources for the promotion of workplace safety and health and be devoted to supervising the management of safety and health, and auditing the performance regularly. 
• Strengthening basic safety design and conducting pre-operation risk assessment and in-operation monitoring of safety and health to prevent accidents from happening. 
• To promote safety and health training so as to ensure employees’ full awareness of safety and health and to take responsibility of personal safety and health.

GHG Inventory Management 

Yang Ming is committed to providing global shipping services, we recognize that in the process of providing shipping services, the environment will be affected due to the consumption of energy resources and the generation of greenhouse gas emissions. In the face of the current international greenhouse gas reduction trend, in addition to complying with international environmental conventions, we have to play an active role in environmental protection, thus Yang Ming has obtained verification of ISO 14064-1:2018 greenhouse gas inventory management for the first time in 2022. Once we understand our own GHG emissions, we can continue to promote efficient use of energy resources and energy conservation to reduce GHG emissions.
