Yang Ming Receives AFLAS Award for Best Shipping Line – Intra-Asia
The Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards (AFLAS) is one of the most prestigious honors in the global logistics and supply chain industry. This year, Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation (“Yang Ming”) was once again recognized as Best Shipping Line – Intra-Asia. On behalf of Yang Ming, Mr. Allen Wu, Managing Director of Yang Ming Line (Hong Kong) Ltd., accepted the award. Yang Ming extended its gratitude to customers for their continued trust and support in the company’s high-quality services.
Since 2016, Yang Ming has been acknowledged at the AFLAS Awards for ten consecutive years. This year marks the eighth time that readers of Asia Cargo News have voted Yang Ming as Best Shipping Line – Intra-Asia, reaffirming the Company’s reputation for efficiency and reliability in regional services. Currently, Yang Ming operates over forty intra-Asia services using vessels ranging from 1,800 TEU to 4,000 TEU, combining direct calls with transshipment links to strengthen long-haul connectivity.
Amid global economic growth and evolving supply chain dynamics, Yang Ming is enhancing capacity and reinforcing its presence in key markets. At the same time, the Company continues to expand its service network, renew its fleet, and adopt cleaner energy solutions to safeguard its core container shipping business. “YM Willpower” Completes First LNG Bunkering in Singapore Advancing Energy Transition and Customer Decarbonization Services
Yang Ming continues to proactively advance its energy transition strategy in response to evolving international environmental regulations. In 2026, Yang Ming will progressively introduce newly built 15,500 TEU class container vessels primarily fueled by liquefied natural gas (LNG) into its operating fleet. The lead vessel, YM Willpower, completed partial LNG bunkering at the shipyard prior to delivery and was officially deployed on February 8 into Yang Ming’s Far East–Mediterranean MD2 service. On February 26, through close collaboration with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and energy supplier Shell Eastern Trading (Pte) Ltd. (Shell), YM Willpower successfully bunkered around 3,500 metric tons of LNG in Singapore. The LNG supplied will serve as the vessel’s primary fuel for the entire voyage. This milestone signifies Yang Ming’s concrete progress in low-carbon transformation and the provision of emission-reduction solutions to customers, further demonstrating the Company’s firm commitment toward the gradual realization of net-zero emissions.

Guided by its commitment to sustainable operations and talent development, Yang Ming held a signing ceremony for a Maritime Personnel Talent Development Cooperation Agreement with National Dong Gang Senior High School of Marine Science and Aquaculture (hereinafter referred to as "Dong Gang Maritime") on January 21 at Yang Ming's Qidu Headquarters Building. The agreement was signed by Chairman Dr. Chuck F. M. Tsai on behalf of Yang Ming and Principal Hung Chia-Huang on behalf of Dong Gang Maritime.
