Yang Ming Receives AFLAS Award for Best Shipping Line – Intra-Asia
The Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards (AFLAS) is one of the most coveted prizes among logistics and supply-chain operators worldwide. This year, Yang Ming once again was honored with the AFLAS Award for Best Shipping Line – Intra-Asia at the ceremony hosted and organized by Asia Cargo News. On behalf of Yang Ming, Mr. Winston Yeh, Vice President of Huan Ming (Shanghai) International Shipping Agency Co., Ltd., accepted the award. Yang Ming expressed gratitude to its customers for their support and trust in the Company’s quality services.
Yang Ming has won the AFLAS Award for 9 consecutive years since 2016. This year, the Company received the AFLAS Award for Best Shipping Line – Intra-Asia for the 7th time. This great honour is not only the result of readers’ votes from Asia Cargo News; it is also a recognition from business sectors and customers of Yang Ming's top-quality services in the intra-Asia routes. In response to the changes in global supply chains and to maintain stable transport services on the world's shipping routes, Yang Ming is continuing to sail deep into Asia's inter-regional markets and optimize its network of service routes. Currently, the Company offers customers 38 weekly services in the region. Earlier in March this year, Yang Ming launched the JKX service and revamped the JTS service to continue strengthening the Company's competitiveness in the Japanese market and optimize its planning of service routes in Northeast Asia. At the same time, Yang Ming upgraded its existing PAS routes by extending services to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to further penetrate the Southeast Asian market. The Company is criss-crossing its cargo transport services to meet different needs.
Yang Ming is always committed to refining its global maritime transport operations. By offering a comprehensive and reliable network of global cargo shipping routes and upgrading e-services, the Company hopes to increase customer satisfaction. Starting this year, Yang Ming is increasing its use of biofuel on different service routes. Following the trend of reducing emissions, the Company is actively lowering the impact from its shipping operations. Yang Ming is thrilled to announce its inaugural participation in the 2024 4th Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (TSAA), where it has earned a Bronze Award for its pioneering "Sustainable Ocean and Reading Project." This accolade underscores the company's ommitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through the Yang Ming Cultural Foundation's efforts in advancing ocean education and conservation awareness. The project focuses on promoting ocean education through picture book reading activities, providing opportunities for picture book authors to showcase their work, and donating these published works to elementary school tudents while organizing ocean storytelling events. This deepens Yang Ming's sustainable initiatives and raises public awareness of cean conservation.
Yang Ming's First Microfilm: The Pursuit of Nautical Dreams Wins "Sustainability Micro Movie of the Year"
Yang Ming is committed to implementing corporate sustainability initiatives and, for the first time, participated in the 8th Taipei Golden Eagle Micro-Movie Festival organized by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy with two works: the microfilm "The Pursuit of Nautical Dreams" and the corporate image film "YANG MING delivers Good for life." These two films stood out among 183 entries, winning the top awards for "Sustainability Micro Movie of the Year " and the "The Sustainability Micro Movie Bronze Award" respectively. On 9th August, Yang Ming's Chief Marine Technology Officer & Senior Vice President, James J.S. Jeng, attended the award ceremony on behalf of the company.
