Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. was awarded the First Prize in the “Outstanding Enterprise” category of the 19th National Brand Yushan Award at the ceremony on October 19. Winning this prestigious award is such an honor for Yang Ming as the first-time contender, and the recognition of its solid operational performance and longterm ESG efforts.Over the years, the National Brand Yushan Award has served as the most credible benchmark that inspires corporations to improve service quality and exerting R&D capacity. The selection committee was composed of judges from industry, government and the academic community, who selected the winning corporations on the basis of integrity and competitiveness. Founded in Taiwan and with service routes crisscrossing the globe, Yang Ming upholds its excellent shipping service and smart fleet management to stand firmly as the world’s 9th largest container shipping company against the backdrop of a fastchanging maritime environment. Yang Ming is also a company that fully understands its responsibilities to the society. This is most evident in its dedicated attention to sustainability. The Company is committed to gradually reducing energy consumption and carbon emission by ship hull optimization. On this year’s “World Oceans Day”, Yang Ming partnered with Azure Alliance on an ocean cleanup project aimed at raising the awareness of marine conservation. Many of Yang Ming employees participated in the project and volunteered to clean beach and harbor. The project also offers environmental training courses for Yang Ming employees to raise awareness on environment projection. Furthermore, Yang Ming is also a sponsor of National Museum of Marine Science and Technology for coral restoration that aims to maintain marine biodiversity. In addition, Yang Ming continues to build strong collaboration between academia and industry to cultivate domestic talents and strengthen Taiwan maritime industry. Yang Ming Cultural Foundation Joins Forces with NTOU and Hon Hai to Promote Marine Environmental Protection and Education
The Yang Ming Cultural Foundation, National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), and Hon Hai Technology Group (Hon Hai) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the YM Oceanic Culture & Art Museum to jointly promote marine environmental protection and education.
